TOKYO.IG
TOKYO.IG is a project founded and run by Masahisa Matsunuma.
It focuses on and captures everyday life in Tokyo, covering not only well-known neighbourhoods such as Shinjuku and Shibuya, but also smaller ones where most of the Tokyo people wake up in the morning and go to bed at night.
Through this project, Masahisa intends to achieve the following;
1. Time passes by so fast in the city. You wake up in the morning and then find yourself standing on a crowded train. You arrive at your office and then find yourself sitting in front of the computer in an office all day. Night falls by the time you leave the office and again you get back on a rush hour train.
But even on a day like that, your daily life may be filled with beautiful moments, and unless you stop in the hustle and bustle of the city, and look up and around sometimes, you might miss them. TOKYO.IG aims to capture those moments like everyone is a movie star. You are the star in your own life and your everyday life is worth capturing in a frame.
2. Tokyo is big. Although Shinjuku, Shibuya and Asakusa are top destinations for most visitors, there are many other places which are rich in local culture and definitely worth discovering. Through photography, TOKYO.IG would like to introduce visitors to those places so that they will have a chance to discover off-the-beaten-track Tokyo. Meet real Tokyo people and see and feel what locals see and feel every day.
TOKYO.IGは松沼雅久が立ち上げ、運営しているプロジェクトです。
本プロジェクトは、東京の人々の日常風景にフォーカスした写真ギャラリーです。新宿や渋谷のような誰もが知っている場所から、多くの東京人が日常を送っている小さい街までをカバーしています。
TOKYO.IGは、次のような思いで取り組んでいます。
1. 1日があっという間に過ぎていく東京の生活。朝起きたと思ったら、満員電車に揺られ、職場では1日中コンピュータの前に座って作業。オフィスを出る頃には既に暗くなり、また帰宅ラッシュに飲み込まれる。
たとえそんな１日であっても、普段の日常は美しい一瞬で溢れているかもしれません。街の喧騒の中で時々立ち止まって、顔をあげてあたりを見回したら、そのような瞬間に出会えるかもしれません。TOKYO.IGは、そのような一瞬を、まるで映画のワンシーンのように捉えたい。自分の人生の主役は自分自身だから。主役の日常生活は切り取る価値がある瞬間に溢れていると考えています。
2. 東京は大きい。訪れた人は新宿、渋谷、浅草といったよく知られた街に向かいますが、それ以外にも個性的で魅力的な街がたくさんあります。実際多くの都民はそのような街に住み、日々暮らしています。写真を通してそのような街を紹介することで、東京を訪れた人がよりリアルな東京の暮らしや文化に触れる体験をすることにつながればと願っています。
Masahisa Matsunuma
Masahisa Matsunuma is a Tokyo based photographer who was born and grew up in Tokyo. He is passionate about capturing the beauty of everyday life.
Masahisa moved to Toronto, Canada to do his bachelor's degree at the age of 19. After completing his computer science degree at York University, he returned to Tokyo and started his career in business and technology consulting with Accenture. The catastrophic earthquake made him decide to change his career and become self-employed. He participated in several projects to help recovery of the devastated people and regions, working with various parties including local communities, governments, NPOs and global companies.
In 2016, Masahisa started a new challenge, opening a guesthouse in Yakushima and joining Campfire Hotels for a glamping business. That was about the time he started working seriously on photography.
Masahisa founded TOKYO.IG on November 1, 2017 and opened its instagram account. As of June 30, 2018, he has more than 10K followers and maintains over 20% engagement rate.

東京出身のフォトグラファーです。日々の暮らしにある美しい瞬間を捉えるのが好きです。
19歳の時にカナダに引っ越し、York大学でコンピュータサイエンスの学位を取得。その後帰国し、Accentureにてビジネス/テクノロジーコンサルティングの仕事に就きました。2011年3月11日の東日本大震災がきっかけで独立。東北復興支援のプロジェクトに参画し、地域コミュニティ、政府機関、NPO、民間企業の方々と仕事をして参りました。
2016年には新しいチャレンジに取り組み、屋久島にゲストハウスをオープン、またグランピング団体であるCampfire Hotelsに参画。カメラに真剣に取り組み始めたのはちょうどその頃です。
2017年11月1日にTOKYO.IGを設立。インスタグラムにアカウントを開設しました。2018年6月30日現在、フォロワーは1万人を超え、20%以上のエンゲージメント率を維持しています。
